Mr. Musk holds forth on the platform at all hours. In fact, he has tweeted nearly every day for the past four years.
The habit has gotten Mr. Musk in trouble. In 2018, the Securities and Exchange Commission accused him of misleading investors when he said he had "funding secured” to take Tesla private . Mr. Musk agreed to have a Tesla lawyer vet certain posts related to the electric-car maker. His tweeting, highlighted in the chart, has only grown more prolific since then.
Mr. Musk’s favorite topics are, unsurprisingly, the electric-car maker and rocket company he runs.
His other pet corporate projects—the tunneling business Boring and the brain-implant startup Neuralink—are frequent tweet fodder.
And, increasingly, Twitter itself. Mr. Musk started buying Twitter shares in January and is now among the company’s top shareholders.
Mr. Musk is somewhat unusual in that most of his tweets mention other users, many of them superfans. Roughly 77% of his missives since he opened his account in 2010 consist of replies to other users.
The account Mr. Musk mentions the most other than his companies is @Erdayastronaut, which describes itself as “Bringing space down to Earth for everyday people 🚀.”
Mr. Musk is a huge fan of emojis, particularly one that signifies “rolling on the floor laughing.
